So, basically, the content of that article is as follows:
All motorized traffic outside habitable areas are regulated by law. The main principles are that recreational use of motorized vehicles are generally prohibited, but may be permitted if certain conditions are met. Any such use requires permission from the property owner, but a property owner cannot alone give you permission to ride your snowmobile on his land - due to the general prohibition.
In Finnmark and Nord-Troms counties, recreational use of motorized vehicles are permitted on tracks and frozen lakes.

The current goverment has currently allowed 100 municipalities to establish tracks and test recreational use of snowmobiles.
You should check with Brønnøysund municipality before you start the build. You may well get permission if you can package it in a nice wrapping :thumleft

A lot of people in this region drive snowscooters. The recipe is to load the scooter on a hanger and drive to the sweedish border. There are few restrictions in Sweden. (Next to impossible in Norway)

I ride snowmobiles and love it! I started riding bikes just to have something to do so the summer would'nt feel so long.

Winter is AWESOME!

Both Hattfjelldal and Hemnes municipalities have so called fishing tracks for snowmobiles during winter, and from Sausvatn to the Sweden border is aprox 1,5 hours drive.
2 hjul, 5 gir, nær & fjernlys, baklys, bremselys og 4 blinklys, for ikke å glemme, en motor :)

We also have a snowmobile, but I do not get to use it as often as I would like, not so much snow here.
The one we bought was NOK. 10.000,- and is a bit old, but works fine! Lynx GL3900 with a fisty Rotax 600 2 cyl. engine. :prop:

(And of course... I do not drive it at all, as that is not allowed here... :redface Might be partly allowed on our own land though)

Once you try it you get hooke'd.
No speedlimits, no cops, no roads to follow, no traffic and best of all no people for miles and miles!
Just pure freedom to do and go where ever you want.

to eliminate the Original (and way to long steering shaft in this picture)
