road trip in norway

Legg inn av laurence »

Hello
We plan to make a trip in Norway, by motorcycle, to reach the northern cape in September 2017.
We are two 51 years old women with breast cancer at 47 years old. We are currently in remission. We live brest in France.
We have another thing in common, the bike. This is our therapy.
But the other goal of this trip is to meet women who have had the same experience of cancer and who have a passion for motorcycling.
We hope to get in touch with these women , biker,in treatment or remission, who would be interested in this meeting.
Can you help us ?

Hi

I tried a quick google search, but didn't find much about female bikers and breast cancer, specifically.
Anyway, it seems like 20 norwegian women made a calendar where the income from the sales should support cancer treatment.
http://jbl.no/nyheter/slik-gjor-mc-dame ... n/19.41263 . Unfortunately one needs to pay to get access to the
article in "Jærbladet" from the southwest part of Norway (close to Stavanger). Anyway, you might be able to trace them by contacting
Jærbladet, or make a search by other means.
According to the following article, Norway has a very high number of female bikers per capita:
http://www.dagbladet.no/2011/10/17/maga ... /18646017/
Therefore, you should be able to dig up women with common interests..
Good luck with your trip, and everything..
mvh

Norway is very aware of all cancer causes, and events and fundraisers are continuously in the media.

I advise planning a route, and getting in touch with the local rags on the route. Give them a chance and let them the work.

There is a motorcycleclub ("Fatso MC") near Oslo making substantional annual contributions to the norwegian "cancer foundation", Kreftforeningen.
I would make contact with Fatso and/or Kreftforeningen in this matter.
Just Google "Kreftforeningen motorsykkel".
Good luck :)

Our project is progressing, we have had contacts with motorcycle clubs who help us a lot in the elaboration of our itinerary and in spreading our message. They are also ready to come to our rescue for mechanical problems. Unfortunately, we still do not have contact with women bikers who would have shared the adventure of cancer. But we believe in it.
