Slip-on montering ... "Mystisk" Leo Vince skive med fem hull

Ved montering av slip-on på XL700VA Transalp var egenlig alt enkelt og selvforklarende. Det var med en rund skive med huller (perforert) i som passer i forkant potte før eksosrøret stikkes inn og fjær monteres for å holde det hele sammen. Monterte ikke denne skiva. Håper det er noen her inne som kan si noe om denne skiva, se bilde?

Jeg fikk ikke med noe sånt da jeg monterte på Transalp i sin tid.

Høres ut som en rimelig forklaring.
Hadde jeg skulle montert slip-on ville jeg nok neppe utelatt å montere en medfølgende del. Tror det skal veldig lite til for å endre oppsettet fra produsenten. Dvs. at slip-on potta ikke vil gi den optimale effekten, så langt det lar seg gjøre, når den monteres.
Mao. jeg ville helt klart montert denne skiva der den passet, slik dypen har forklart i et tidligere innlegg.

Men.... fulgte det ikke med monteringsanvisning med forklaring hvor skiva skal monteres ?

That disk is a european thing for the noise regulations over there. He said it would quiet the system down some but it would hurt power quite a bit. It would probably be worse power wise than the stock system.

He said I shouldn't use it in the US for that reason.

Fort gjort å teste både med og uten. Kanskje du liker litt lavere støy, eller du liker litt mere toppeffekt(som kanskje ikke brukes så ofte?) .

When I installed my Leo's this spring, I wanted as much of that sweet V4 sound as I could get. Needless to say, both the baffles and the discs with the 5 holes stayed sealed in their respective bags. While I love the low bubbly grumble that open pipes provide, the deceleration popping has always been a little tiresome on longer rides. After recently installing a power commander, I was noticing the popping becoming more prevalent. On a whim, I decided to pull the cans off and install the 5 hole discs just to see what effect they might have. Wow, I am loving this decision! Decel popping is almost non existent now. The overall sound level is ever so slightly reduced, but not noticeably so, unless you're looking for it. I am also noticing slightly crisper throttle response. As for the purpose of these discs, I've heard some people say it's to provide backpressure, and some say that its just another DB killer. Not being a mechanic, I won't even attempt to dissect the benefit or degradation of performance through the installation of these, but I am extremely happy with how the bike is running and sounding with them installed. My only complaint is that the discs do rattle some at low temp idling. I thought about applying a thin bead of RVT to the recess where they sit, but thought I'd see if anyone else had any other ideas to secure them.
